The essence of Liquid Crystal Display is whether the voltage drive liquid crystal display shows or not, plus the timing can drive a picture. So the easiest one should be an analog Lcd Display. Next, we will discuss how to design TFT LCD Screen drivers on TFT technology Organic Light Emitting Display.

1. Simulate TFT.
This is the structure diagram of the analog TFT. There are only source and gatedriver on the TFT screen, and other signals are derived from the FPC.
R1, G1, and B1 are analog voltage data signal lines. Under a certain time sequence, different colors can be displayed by changing the voltage value on the data line LCD Display Module. Since the analog quantity is continuous, the displayed color should be infinite. Many others are control and clock lines TFT LCD Display.
In theory, as long as we can establish proper timing and change the voltage to varying degrees of timing, we can drive timing TFTs. In order to complete the function of the following figure, we will compare the current various solutions:
Use a single chip microcomputer.

Because this kind of CPU control on the IO pins is done in software order, many concurrent operations have not been implemented. Powerful processing capabilities do not mean powerful timing generation capabilities!
Use programmable logic devices.
It is worthwhile to use CPLD or FPGA to complete the TFT Module. This chip has unparalleled advantages in timing control. Concurrency and accuracy delay are not a problem. CPLD is still a digital device, and DA is very important when driving TFT. CPLD+DA+SDRAM is the ideal model of TFT driver board.

2. Digital TFT, design TFT LCD screen driver.
At present, this type of liquid crystal display is widely used in the embedded field. When ARM has a built-in LCD controller, using digital TFT becomes very simple.
The generation of TFT is very simple, but on the basis of the above-mentioned analog TFT, DA is built into the panel. This type of LCD panel contains three main components: sourcedriver, gatedriver, and DA. Because of the introduction of DA, the number of colors of this TFT is fixed. Due to the influence of the number of DA digits, most of them are currently less than 24 digits.
The driver is like an analog LCD, nothing more than a high-speed DA on the driver board. Although the DA on the driver board has been omitted, the price of this LCD display will definitely be higher (including DA after all).

3. Design TFT LCD screen driver.
The timing generator that must be mentioned! We can see that there are many timing signals. In the general video format, the timing sequence has only three timing signals HSYN (horizontal scan), VSYN (vertical scan), and CLK (data clock). The conversion can be completed with the timingcontroller chip. This chip is usually used for TFT screens.
In order to facilitate the development, the timingcontroller is integrated into the TFT liquid crystal display again. This kind of digital TFT is now used by everyone.
The LCD panel includes four parts: sourcedriver, gatedriver, DA and timingcontroller. This is the most expensive. However, it is the most convenient to use Transparent OLED.
If you want to develop a driver board, it is easier, the structure timing is not much, and DA is not needed.
